November...30 Days Of Thankfulness, Day Twenty-Four

Day twenty-four of #30daysofThankfulness:

My pastors.

I am so very blessed to have not one but TWO amazing pastors. They have been such a great influence on me and they have helped me grow closer to Christ.

They have both been a BIG part of my life and I am SO Thankful to God for them!

Brother Gary has been such an amazing, funny, happy, loving, God fearing pastor and friend. I love the way he teaches and the way he makes everybody smile. The church I go to now is a little church in Lavaca AR. I never would have thought that I would end up loving it as much as I do. A lot of my love for our little country church is because of the people there, they are ALL such WONDERFUL Christians! But the BIGGEST reason that I love it there is because Brother Gary teaches me (and the rest of our church) about the truth. That truth is sometimes VERY hard to preach. I know that but I also know that no matter what, Brother Gary is ALWAYS going to preach truth and wisdom and I am VERY Thankful for that and for him!

Brother Kent has ALWAYS been there, he is such a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and I am SO Thankful to have had him as my pastor for so long. He baptized me! I remember that journey so well. I remember talking with him about what it means to be saved, what it means to live a life for God and what it means to give your whole life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was there to baptize me and I am so Thankful for him being there to help me as a young believer. Brother Kent has been such a great influence on me! Brother Kent has been a friend. He was never just a pastor to anyone, he has always been a friend to everyone! He has stood firm in his faith no matter what. Brother Kent has taught me so much truth about God and who God is. He taught me that God is a God of love but He is also a God of wrath. I am very Thankful to him for teaching me that truth because as a young Christian you're prone to thinking that God is a God of love and He most certainly is but He is also a God of wrath and we need to be taught that!

Thank you God for blessing me with TWO amazing pastors and friends!

Silent Pain.

I just recently read a blog post about silent pain. It was like it was talking about me. Though the girl that wrote it and I deal with pain about completely different things and hers is much more serious, we still deal with pain and we hold it in. Unfortunately, she didn't say anything until it was to late. Until it had already broken her. I don't want to do that. I don't want this pain to break me. I don't want to lose a part of myself because of this pain. So, I am going tell you about my pain. Not to make you feel bad for me, not so that you can pity me, but because... I want to inspire others. I want to inspire you. I want to share my journey with you, I want you to be a part of my journey. And I don't want this pain to break me. I walk down the aisle in Wal-mart, in the hallway at the hospital where my dad works, at church, in the car, at home, anywhere and it seems like everywhere I go there are flickering lights (flickering lights are a major seizure trig...

Let it be all for you, Lord. Here I am.

It's a scary thing to not know if you're dying from a terrible illness. It's a scary thing to look at life with the perspective of a dying person. It's a scary thing to question yourself, to micromanage yourself, to try to make sure you tell all your people you love them and try to explain just how much...just in case. It's scary, broken, terrifying, it makes my insides...it breaks me, it is scary...I don't know how to describe it. Maybe because I don't want to, maybe my heart is just breaking and I just can't get there. I can't really go there and really try to sort through it...I'm not sure, but I do know that I can physically feel the ache. Not getting stuck in the "what if?" and vain imaginings. Not trying to escape it all. Trying to live right here. To sit, just sit here and watch as God works and does wonders too many to declare...is really hard. It is so hard fighting to surrender and truly rest here. To truly, genuinely accept...
